Car Import Tax EU estimates what it costs to register a used car in another European country: registration tax, VAT where it applies, customs duty for destinations outside the EU, administrative fees and the annual road tax. The free estimate is available to everyone, without an account.
The paid report, €9.95 as a one-off purchase, adds: the cost of the same vehicle over five years, the same vehicle calculated and ranked in all 34 countries we cover, and every reservation behind the figures. It opens in your browser immediately after payment and can be printed or saved as a PDF.
Our figures are calculated from the official scales published by each country and are kept up to date, but they are an estimate, not a tax ruling. The amount you actually pay is set by the authority of the destination country, on the data it records for your vehicle. Where a country bases its tax on a value that its administration sets and does not publish, we say so on screen and the figure shown is explicitly an approximation.
We are not tax advisers and the report is not legal or tax advice. Check the final amount with the administration of the destination country before you commit to a purchase.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service enquiries and handles returns.
We provide the service with reasonable care but cannot guarantee that every scale is free of error or that an administration will apply the figures we publish. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the report. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.
If the report is not what you expected, write to us within 14 days of your purchase and we will refund it in full. No justification is needed. Refunds are issued by Paddle to the payment method you used, normally within a few working days.
Because the report is delivered to you immediately, EU law would otherwise let us treat your right of withdrawal as waived once delivery starts. We choose not to: the 14-day refund above applies regardless.

The simulator runs entirely in your browser. The details you enter about a vehicle — price, year, engine, CO₂, weight — are not sent to us and never leave your device. They stay in your browser's local storage so the report can be produced after payment, and you can clear them at any time by clearing your browser data.
We do not require an account, we do not ask for your e-mail address to show the free estimate, and the site sets no advertising or analytics cookies.
Payment is processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as Merchant of Record and as data controller for the payment. Paddle collects the data it needs to take payment and to meet its tax obligations — name, e-mail address, billing country, payment details. We never see your card details. Paddle's privacy policy applies to that processing: paddle.com/legal/privacy.
Under the GDPR you may ask us for access to, correction of, or erasure of any personal data we hold about you, and you may lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. Since we hold no account data, such a request will usually concern data held by Paddle, and we will pass it on.
